Jennifer Aldrick a BIG thank you! What you have initiated here is going to help people in ways unimaginable. I started off as a Computer Science Student, after two years of learning C# and enterprise software development dropped out of college to work at a startup (seemed the cool thing to do). And there, even though it was a small company I was introduced to UI/UX for the very first time through my then boss.

I do live in a third world country whichis starting to get it’s grip on IT. And UI/UX is something which is extremely rare and pretty much unknown. I stumbled upon UX and the idea of centering the Human needs and wants as a core requirement in software development process astonished me immensely. It was a dimension of the IT industry i’ve never witnessed before, with further research on my own (without the guidance of a senior or formal education) I came to know of the amount of effort UX’ers exert to empathize and connect with the users on an emotional level.

Just with an year of experience designing interfaces, my passion towards UX landed me a job ata BOI firm to design and revamp a SaaS application. User-centered design has being quite the passion for me, and on my own I have come to a position that I myself am proud of. Yet I would be pleased to have a much more senior individual help me out and guide me in this amazing career path.

The comment section is filled with amazing people with decades of experience that are altruistic enough to help out beginners like me. Such an amazing community, the personality of all these individuals inspires me to be a kind and resourceful human and learn much more of the UX discipline.
