Install Mesa 17.2.4 On Ubuntu 17.10 And Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Mesa 17.2.4 is now available for ubuntu 17.10 and ubuntu 16.04 too. Ubuntu engineer Timo Aaltonen who is responsible for Mesa updates announces the availability of latest Mesa ( Graphics Driver Stack) and can be installed from the Ubuntu X Swat Updates PPA.

Mesa, also called Mesa3D and The Mesa 3D Graphics Library, is an open-source device driver and software implementation of the OpenGL, Vulkan and other specifications. A variety of device drivers allows the Mesa libraries to be used in many different environments ranging from software emulation to complete hardware acceleration for modern GPUs.

Ubuntu 17.10 comes up with Mesa 17.2.2 by default while Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is loaded with the older Mesa 17.0.7. Here we will show you the way to install or upgrade Mesa 17.2.4 on ubuntu 17.10 and ubuntu 16.04 LTS
