I completely agree with your assessment here. I think the popularity can be attributed to AngularJS being touted by Google engineers over it’s functionality. It’s what the “Cool kids” are using so “I” am going to use it too. Early usage results for React show in about another year it should be rivaling AngularJS for popularity since the “other cool kids” (facebook) are working on it and it works on a massive scale with Facebook and Instagram. React is far more intuitive, it still has modularity, but it completely isolates the entire component in one location, not spreading it around in multiple files (something I abhor about MVC frameworks). Plus React scales. AngularJS has limitations that make it unfeasible for larger uses. Thank you for the article!
