Introducing — Isolated Chains
We don’t forget the very reason why we founded Omnisea and built the first Omnichain NFT Launchpad — the idea that the whole NFT ecosystem is fragmented between isolated, not connected blockchains. Since the start, we’ve managed to deploy our Launchpad and NFT Gateway contracts on the mainnets of 9 blockchains — Ethereum, Polygon, Moonbeam, Avalanche, Fantom, Arbitrum, Optimism, BNB Chain, and Harmony. Thanks to the integration of our contracts with the revolutionary cross-chain messaging protocols, LayerZero and Axelar, Omnisea Creators and Collectors are now able to create and mint omnichain collections between chains — all without switching networks.
Today we would like to introduce the novel concept of Isolated Chains. The idea is to provide a way to simultaneously support more and more ecosystems on our Launchpad and gradually connect them with each other. When a given Isolated Chain becomes supported by one of the GMPs — LayerZero or Axelar — at that exact moment we will be able to quickly connect such a chain, and NFT collections created on it so far via Omnisea Launchpad, with all the already Connected Chains. That means every collection created on such an Isolated Chain will become mintable from all the other supported blockchains! The important note to take is that until that time collections created on such a network will be available to mint only for users connected to that specific chain (no cross-chain capabilities).
Motivation — On the way to connect every NFT ecosystem 💡
The biggest reason for us to introduce Isolated Chains is our desire to provide creators with our solutions, in particular, the easy launch of the NFT collection, regardless of what blockchain artists want to choose. We consider our cross-chain functionalities, especially omnichain minting without switching networks, as an important argument to launch your collections using Omnisea Launchpad. That being said, in the end, what’s the most important is the ability itself to create and to do it effortlessly — with clear, intuitive no-code UI, and all crucial features included. For the last few weeks, we’ve been working hard on improving a lot of aspects of our platform. We are continuously listening to your feedback and that’s why you can expect big changes to come to reality 2 weeks from now. In the coming days, we’ll also give you an update on what is to come in more detail.
Having all of that in mind, we would like to highlight that we don’t want to ignore NFT communities and artists from any chain even though cross-chain messaging protocols such as LayerZero and Axelar currently support 9 blockchains with which we have already integrated. Omnisea doesn’t want to limit only to those chains that are currently enabled by the protocols mentioned above. We believe that the future is Omnichain and all ecosystems need to be interconnected. Our intention is to turn on cross-chain capabilities for each NFT collection that will be created on each Isolated Chain as soon as the GMP will support it.
First five Isolated Chains — Let’s start and seek the future connection 🔗
In the coming weeks, we’ll add the support for 5 major EVM-compatible blockchains — Cronos, Aurora, Oasis Emerald, GateChain, and Evmos. We’ll begin our journey with these ecosystems in Isolated mode (without cross-chain functionalities) and turn them fully cross-chain-compatible as soon as LayerZero or Axelar will add their support for a given blockchain. That means that any NFT collection launched via Omnisea Launchpad on the Isolated Chain will become fully Omnichain in the future!
