At the beginning of the year, I made a commitment to read at least two books a month. The journey has started already and I would be carrying you along on this voyage to personal growth and development. No doubt that I’m now accountable to you, therefore be ready to read the synopsis of all the books I read in a month.

On the last day of January, I had a book review with a close friend and he preferred the idea of chapter by chapter review. I then decided to make the synopsis chapter by chapter review.

Relax and enjoy the cruise!!!

Chapter One: Portrait of a Godly Mother. A woman is an help-meet meant to complement the effort of her spouse. You can’t help someone if you don’t know the person’s needs. Giving birth doesn’t make you a Mother-in-Christ but exhibiting godly motherhood does.

Chapter Two: The role and duties of a Mother-in-Christ. Must be humble, respectful, uphold Christian values, submission, able to tame the tongue, learn how to handle situations, be a caring wife and mother.

Chapter Three: The Ideal Mother. The Proverb 31 woman is hardworking. Caring for a child starts from infancy, ensuring children are properly breast fed; the child’s best trainer is a godly mother, place high premium on training a child.

Chapter Four: The Challenges of Motherhood. This period involves a lot of duties and responsibilities. Strength, intelligence, hard work, patience, maturity, prayerfulness, planning and consistency are needed to achieve motherly duties. Training well groomed successful and balanced children should be the goal of every mother. As a mother, your actions must not contradict your words. Be patient with your children, don’t expect all of them to be born again over night but continually pray and fast for them so that the Lord would touch their hearts.

Chapter Five: The Power of Intercession. Devote quality time to praying effectively for your family. “Intercession can do in the life of a child what human effort fails to accomplish.” The greatest gift you can give your Children is the “gift of prayer”.

Chapter Six: The Godly Woman and her Community. As a godly mother, be heavenly conscious and earthly relevant. Influence your world, let your voice be heard, express yourself and ensure your opinion counts.

Chapter Seven: A Universal Question. Who can find a Virtuous Woman? A woman of virtue is a woman of substance, with rare qualities, uncommon grace and full of godliness. The virtuous woman is dependable, an asset, a good home maker, a good cook, a good financial manager, looks her best, industrious, cheerful, selfless, addicted to excellence and spiritually sound.

Chapter Eight: Survival Strategies for Godly Mothers. Motherhood is a calling that requires grace and wisdom. Dedicate your children to the Lord, dedicate yourself personally to the service of God, don’t be weary, spend time teaching your children, give godly counsel to your children, endure difficult situations and be creative.

Kudos you successfully went through this summary!!

The values taught in this book sounds unrealistic and unachievable but as a woman or a man of faith, grace is available to be all that God wants you to be. Give yourself to the process and you would be amazed at the result.
