Receiving A Letter From Justin Trudeau

I was checking the mail and I saw a white envelope with golden lettering that read “Prime Minister”. I literally said: “Holy Guacamole” I hurried upstairs, showed my husband the envelope and of course he had the same reaction!
Now, you might be thinking how can a regular person get a letter from Justin Trudeau?
Well, that is when the power of gifting comes in!
You see, a few weeks ago I sent the Prime Minister a personalized letter, a custom illustration of him and his family, as well as a copy of my book “The Hip Heroes Find Their Powers”.
I sent it because I believe he is a promoter of good human values. Since my book talks about using universal human values as powers, I thought it would be nice to gift his children a copy.
I did not expect anything in return, I simply hoped it got to his hands and his children could read it.
So you can imagine my surprise when I received a thank you letter from him!

His letter reads the following:
Dear Ms. Sanchez:
Thank you very much for taking the time to write to me, and for sending me your book entitled “The Hip Heroes Find Their Powers” and poster card to my children.
I sincerely appreciate your kind gesture. Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien, love to read. It is always great to see artists creating books with great messages.
Thank you once again for your thoughtful gift, and I wish you all the best.
Please accept my warmest regards. Sincerely.
Justin Trudeau
Note: People tend to use my second last name when they address me, problems of having two last names…
The truth is, I do not like to link myself to a particular party or politician. But I support Justin and Sofie’s effort to empower children and spread the message of positive values. Plus you have to admit it’s pretty cool that he would care to even send anything in return.
So why I am telling you all this? Well because I want you to understand that if you practice gifting, it pays off even though you are not searching for a return.
Gifting does not mean you need to give away physical objects. A simple act of kindness is a gift.
Smile at someone that seems sad or listen to a friend in need. These things can create a big change in someone’s day.
The point is that our world is full of negativity and it is our duty to fill it up a bit more with positive acts.
I thank Justin Trudeau for his thankful gift. I am truly honoured to have received a letter from the Prime Minister of Canada!
This experience like many others I have encountered shows that you should not be shy to gift away.
Share your value with others and the world will slowly change into a more beautiful place.
Here are some books both for kids and adults I would like to share with you that teach the power of gifting:
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.
The Giving Book: Open the Door to a Lifetime of Giving by Ellen Sabin.
The Berenstain Bears Lend a Helping Hand by Stan Berenstain and Jan Berenstain.
