Beam is evolving

What started as gaming has grown beyond our imagination. Today, we’re announcing that Beam is expanding far past our gaming origins to focus on a bold new North Star: to build, invest in, and accelerate frontier technologies.

The next era

The Beam journey began when one of our founders spotted an opportunity while simply playing a game. That spark ignited something bigger: we gradually cultivated a community of thousands who believed blockchain could transform entertainment and digital experiences forever.

But building a long-term organization is all about planting seeds. So while gaming was set as our principal focus, we also quietly went about investing in promising companies and incubated entire ecosystems. “Now it’s time for those seeds to start bearing fruit.”.

As we previewed during our annual community event in Amsterdam earlier this month, we’re launching five new divisions focused on frontier technology. With over $180 million in our treasury — one of the largest crypto-native war chests — we’re positioned to make serious moves across multiple verticals. This same Beam is owned by our community, all powered by the Beam Network and the BEAM token.

Don’t worry. We’re still gamers

To our gaming community, we say this: we haven’t lost focus. We’re implementing the Beam Network and SDK into games like TrialXtreme and Forgotten Playland, reaching millions of gamers. We’re still onboarding massive gaming studios and pursuing every gaming opportunity.

But we have become increasingly convinced that we must not see gaming in isolation. The new frontier technologies will shape gaming, just as gaming will shape the other technologies. Our vision has broadened to something greater.

To reflect this evolution, we’ve revised our brand and website, and we’ll be providing updates on each new and existing division in the upcoming period. We’re spreading our wings and flying higher than ever.
