The heat of summer has finally just begun in the Philippines. This blog is for you! If you want to experience the heat of one of the best tropical places on earth! 🌞 The island of Boracay, Province of Aklan, Philippines awaits you.

If you are a local and from the Philippines reading this article right now, I got you! keep on reading. And if you’re a foreigner and planning to visit the Island in summer, I will tour you around.

First, worry less about your expenses if you can enjoy, indulge and reward yourself once in a while. We all know you deserve it!

Traveling must be fun and should not be expensive and extravagant if you can just be wise. Thorough planning is really the key. Ocular visit is not impossible with online research such like this article. So, I’m hoping that you’re enjoying reading my words so far.

Looking for Flight — I am a frequent traveler (domestically) and somehow, I managed to monitor the changes of the Airline Flights (at least the two major ones) and their fare. Mostly it changes or they offer a big discount during off-seasons like the month of March, August or Nov. So, I really recommend to look for a flight in these months. Guaranteed that you can enjoy the discount, roughly about less than Php 2500 for 2 passengers RT. If you’re from Manila the best option really is to fly directly to Caticlan instead of Kalibo.

Looking for Accommodation — Finding the greatest accommodation at a fair price is important if you’re planning a trip during the summer when prices may not be as low as they are during the off-season. If you’re a couple I will recommend this place Patio Pacific Boracay they have the best offer per night, the location is right at the middle of Station 2 “White Beach” plus you can enjoy their Pool and Fitness Gym. What I like about this place, is the privacy and it is very quite despite of their location. A stay of more than (6) nights for (2) pax will give a great deal of 2500/night. “Work from the beach” offer. Yearly this is where we stayed.

Now, if you are a family the best place that I can recommend is 7 Stones Boracay you can get their family room 3 Bedroom Family Suite with Roofdeck for at least 9–10K night. What I like about their facilities is the amenities. 7 Stones Boracay is not the typical hotel. They are more likely a condo-residential. The family room has everything including an automatic washing machine, kitchenware, nice bathroom, name it. 7 Stones Boracay is located at the back beach “Bulabog” less crowded, and private. It is just a few minutes walk to white beach.

Island Activity — Local guides are everywhere. It is not hard to look for a guide. But you really don’t need to look for a specific tour guide as they are being regulated (Pricing, Itinerary should be the same) although it will matter the add ons like Jetski, Helmet Diving, Parasailing, Banana Boat ride. Normally these are not included in the Island Hopping Tour.

You have (2) options to do island hopping, either by land transfer or by boat. If you have enough time and it is your first time I will recommend that you choose the boat ride. WHY??? Because of the free buffet (Not fancy) but it is very reasonable. Yes it is included in the Island Hopping package. Normally food in the island ranges from Php 200–300/head. So if you choose the option 1. You score for the tour + food.

Tour Package normally will cost you about 400–500 per head. But if you want to get a big score. Contact my friend Choi +639094064710. He is a local guide there. I know him for a little over 3 years. The tour is about 5–6 hours by boat, you will visit several beaches and islands.

The other option is by land. You can look for electric-van who offers a tour normally it will cost you about Php 1500 for (4) person not including the food. But you can save time visiting the same itinerary.

Food Option — I want to stick with the idea of this article “TIPID” tips. So I will only recommend places where you can dine and eat for no more than Php 100–150 / head per meal.

First, if your accommodation is the same as 7 Stones Boracay. No need for you to eat outside. You can cook you’re own food. You can visit the local market just right after D’mall or Angol and buy your goods there most especially if you are a group/family. “IT IS REALLY A GOOD IDEA”.

The last time my family visited the island, we’re a group of 9 by the way. We spent a little over 30K just for food for (3) nights. So I really recommend to cook if you still can. Again, time management is the key.

VERY CHEAP — right at the back and in a small alley of Patio Pacific, there is a canteen who sells local-Filipino food. It opens around 4:30 AM, so you can have your breakfast there. Approximately 100 pesos for 2 person “Basic” food like rice, egg, hotdog.

If you want other option — here comes the Andoks inside D’mall or near bulabog beach. Don’t forget to try DOKITO “Chicken” BURGER :)

Upon Arrival to Caticlan Airport — you guys will be asked to log in your information. Then proceed, paying for the environmental fee for about Php 250 if you are a local-filipino citizen. For foreign it’s about Php 500.

Now.. VERY IMPORTANT — local guide does offer Round-trip transfer of land+boats to your hotel ranges about Php 900–1200 per person. Don’t fall for it. If you’re wise like me, I won’t go for it.. WHYYYY? there’s no other way going there, it is just the same exact route. So look for SouthCress or any other authorized transportation line at the counter who sells 1 way ride ticket to Caticlan Jetty Port.

  1. Van Ride of Php 100 /head— One way to Caticlan Jetty Port
  2. Boat Ride to Island — 50 / head
  3. Tricycle Ride to your hotel — 150 “Special” one way. (3) passengers

Round-trip per person: 400 vs. 900

But then again, the choice is yours. If you want a hassle free transfer you can also contact Choi +639094064710 maybe he can arrange something cheaper for you.
