Here’s a great link on static prototyping including Wizard of Oz prototyping https://www.nngroup.com/articles/ux-prototype-hi-lo-fidelity/

For our version, the ‘wizard’ sat out of sight, a few feet behind the participant, and would click through our projected prototype as the participant interacted with their hands and body. This helped the participant stay immersed and helped them interact in a more natural way. The ‘wizard’ also brought up and moved 3D objects and 3D paper menus as needed.
