Decentraland is not decentralized enough, but One Game is.

I know the title sounds hilarious, but it is true…

Despite our project being inspired by Decentraland, honestly, there are many aspects that their project disappointed us.

Decentraland finished its ICO almost 9 months ago, at the time of writing, but so far the game is not launched yet. According to its white paper and the technical documentation available in the website, we learned that:

  1. Users can buy land and sell land. Due to the limited supply, land price will continue to go up.
  2. Players don’t have any right to decide anything about the platform. Basically, players need to follow the rules determined by the Decentraland team.
  3. The Decentraland system relies on players to create the whole virtual world, but as a player, you don’t get any incentive for doing so.

We believe the above settings are not right.

  1. First of all, land, as a fundamental element in the platform, should be affordable, and everyone no matter poor or rich, should get a chance to acquire one, and build his/her dream virtual world on it.
  2. Secondly, it should be the community, instead of the team, that decides how the platform or the game upgrades.
  3. And finally, if you rely on players to create the virtual universe, they should be the owner of the platform, and receive enough rewards for their hard work.

This is why we created One Game, which is a better decentralized virtual world built on top of Blockchain, and aims to push the boundary between real and unreal while incentivizing the participants. In One Game:

  1. There are UNLIMITED land supply and land is fairly cheap. Every land is a standalone floating piece in the air, and when players want to create a larger scene, we allow them to connect their land together. Community based collaboration is encouraged in the platform.
  2. We have introduced two rankings, which are Popularity Rank (PR) and Competitiveness Rank (CR), to measure the players’ and the developers’ contribution to the platform. Based on the two rankings, players not only can form a voting committee and make decisions about the platform, but also can receive rewards from the incentive program. Yes, in One Game, you play games or make games to earn real money!

Besides the two above points, One Game also brings in other novel concepts, including the self-evolvement of the platform, and the simulated mining process as a D-App, which you can find more details from our white paper on our website.

Our team is working very hard to deliver the product, and we will open source our codebase very soon. Please stay tuned. Your support is very important to us.

Together, let’s create a truly decentralized virtual world in One Game! What you saw in the movie, Ready Player One, is not that far off.
