A lot of folks aren’t able to understand the basics of the Bible. Probably they had never read the Bible or maybe they aren’t able to understand it due to lack of deep interpretation.

To understand the question “who is Jesus?”, we need to dive a bit deeper into the Bible. In a simple idea, Christians believe that Jesus is the begotten son of God. A lot of folks will argue that anyone who follows and obeys God’s commandment can be the son of God.

The Bible tells us that Jesus was different from other sons of God. He was not born of humans but born among the human being through Mary and Joseph. The Bible also clearly tells us that no sperm from Joseph was assigned for the birth of Jesus. Jesus was conceived through the holy spirit (Matthew 1:18).

Now, a lot of questions might arise regarding this. How can God impregnate a virgin woman? Everything can be possible with God.

Is Jesus The True Son of God?

  • Supporting verses from Old Testament.

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. The virgin will be with the child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14).

Isaiah 7:14 prophesied about Jesus. It prophesied about a child who was to be born through a virgin. Is this God himself? This confusion can be cleared if you know what Immanuel means. Immanuel means God with Us.

The meaning of God with Us indicates that God will be among his people. Through this verse, it can be simplified that God himself will ascend from heaven to be among his people.

Another passage from the old testament (Isaiah 9:6–7) was talking about a child who was to be born. There it tells about a child who was to be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Those aren’t names but titles for the child just like Immanuel(God with Us) which was also a title.

  • Supporting Verses from New Testament.

Christians rely on the first four books of the New Testament to support their belief in Jesus. You can peep into any of the four Gospel where you can find out about the birth of Jesus through the virgin Mary.

He was named Jesus(translated). He was to be called Immanuel? No. Immanuel is the meaning of the Child. God himself with human beings.

The child was called Jesus after it was interpreted and told by an angel of the Lord in a dream. He was not born of human origin. Jesus was conceived through the Holy Spirit. And Mary was still virgin even though she was pregnant.

That incident reveals that Jesus was the true Son of God. It was even more supported after all that Jesus did in the land. He cured the blind, he raised dead people, he cured people with leprosy, he calm the storm, he read people’s minds, and he knew the way how he would die. Ordinary human beings cannot do it. Or a man or prophet cannot do it. He was raised from the dead. That’s why we believe in Jesus as the true son of God.
