What Now !
Destiny is a bitch
After a long and a tired day finally I am approaching my home, only to be greeted by a crowd at home. There is kind of silence which can only be experienced in a void.
My heart sank as I realized what would have happened. I see a dead body in the porch with my family and friends surrounding it.
I thought “This must be the worst day of my life”. I knew this was my grandpa whom I took to the hospital this morning. This is the second death I have seen in a day.
The start of the day itself was ominous. My mother woke me up in a pandemonium. My grandpa was seriously ill. Old age is always difficult.
I rushed him to hospital where doctor admitted him for further observations. I left to open my shop as I was already 5 hrs late. I left my dad and brother to take care of grandpa and left for the shop. To reach early I took an auto but had to get down and walk due to a traffic jam, the railway crossing was closed.
Instead of taking the over-bridge, I decided to cross the tracks directly with the crowd. Someone’s scream jolted me out of my thoughts. I stopped and looked back, the same instant the train zoomed past me. I never realized that I was on my way to hell.
It was a moment’s difference that saved me. Death had just brushed past me. For few seconds, neither I wasn’t able to move a muscle nor could see anything.
I thanked God; stepped back and saw that there was blood everywhere on the track. Someone was hit by train, I was already late and the thought of customers waiting at the shop forced me to rush to the shop.
On reaching the shop I put my hands in the trousers pocket for the key and realized that those were missing. I cursed myself for my absent mindedness. The whole day was proving to be a waste so I decided to get back to home and relax for the rest of the day.
I tried to get an auto but none stopped, all zoom past me like they haven’t even seen me. These auto guys you know they never care about anyone. I took the bus and got back home only after walking half the distance, all thanks to the auto drivers. The bus was relatively empty and I flashed my bus pass to the ticket checker who ignored me and went to his seat.
Then at home all this was happening.
“This must me the worst day of my life” I thought while entering the room.
“What happened mom” I cried reaching to the dead body but she doesn’t even look back and kept sobbing.
