The next NFT project to launch on One Planet is Playible, a play-to-earn fantasy sport game built on Terra. The platform will let players enter their fantasy teams into perpetually free-to-enter contests where they can earn in $UST, the largest decentralized stablecoin in crypto.

The only requirement to play is to have enough NFT Athletes to field a team, and there is no better way of doing this than buying a Starter Pack. The inaugural league will be the MLB, with Starter Packs available for $200 UST on the 9th of April exclusively on One Planet’s Launchpad.

If you’re a baseball fan or just want to speculate on these novel utility NFTs, make sure to set an alarm, you certainly don’t want to miss this unique mint!

So what is Playible?

Playible aims to revolutionize the fantasy sports game industry by creating a straightforward and transparent platform for players to do what they love the most: To manage a sports team and trade athletes from the comfort of their smartphone or laptop.

And the revolution comes in the form of NFTs, which make ownership and trading of fantasy athletes a seamless affair, while doing so on Terra’s blockchain means Playible can host perpetually free-to-enter competitions by leveraging Anchor Protocol’s stable yield.

100% of the revenue from all NFT sales will stay in Playible’s Anchor Vault solely to generate prize money for contests and ensure consistent, unprecedented rewards to become a serious competitor in the fantasy sports scene.

Sounds juicy, but what is it like to play?

Using the inaugural MLB as an example, a player must fill a 10-man line up of its NFT athletes to enter tournaments. These are expected to last for 7 days during which each NFT player earns a score according to his IRL performance on the field. Unlike traditional fantasy baseball, players can only choose athletes available from their NFT portfolio, which makes holding NFTs of performing athletes a potentially lucrative affair.

The better your line up, the more likely you are to win tournaments and earn $UST rewards, which translates to increased purchasing power of valuable athletes on the secondary NFT market. As the season progresses, some of these athletes may become surplus to requirement (or approach IRL retiring age) so knowing when to sell is also important. The choice of squad, transfers and treasury as team manager is completely yours.

And if you are more of a speculative NFT trader than a manager, there is always room to earn $UST by leveraging your knowledge of IRL baseball as athletes’ change in performance and potential over time is reflected on the price of NFTs.

Who are the geniuses behind this?

The core team of four are fully doxxed and have decades of experience in fantasy sports and app development. For this reason, they have received backing from reputable investors and partners which include Hartmann Capital, Grizzly Capital, Intrlinkd Capital, Big Brain Holdings, One Planet and Angel Protocol. Details of team and investors herein.

Roadmap

NBA, NFL and NHL fantasy platforms will follow soon after the release of the inaugural MLB game, each with its respective NFT Starter Pack mints. Other sports that may be considered in the future include Cricket (Indian Premier League) and Soccer (English Premier League and other European Leagues).

Also, the first year after the April launch will be considered a beta testing period for the community to give feedback on gameplay to ensure the game remains fair and well-balanced. From there onwards, more advanced gameplay and mechanics are to be expected, perhaps including upgradeable NFTs, and more 👀 .

Alright I’m sold, what now?

If you’re not a Terra native, fear not, onboarding is easy, just follow the instructions herein. Once you have your Terra Wallet loaded with >$200 (always leave a couple of $UST for Network tx fees), head to the One Planet Launchpad and purchase your MLB Starter Packs on April 9th .

The athletes within the packs are completely randomized, with the only guarantee being that you will receive 1 athlete per position needed to field a team. IRL athletes that aren’t likely to play have been excluded from the packs to avoid having redundant NFTs.

Boosting the Terra Ecosystem

At One Planet we hand-pick NFT projects that will bring added value to the #Lunatics community, and with the potential of Playible to onboard a new wave of IRL fantasy players (and from other chains) into the Terra Ecosystem, $UST, and particularly to Terra’s burgeoning NFT space which has the potential to give the network a particularly large boost as we have seen in other chains like Solana and Polygon in the past.

With so little competition in the NFT Fantasy Sports Scene, we think minting a Playible NFT is a no- brainer (NFA!).
