We want to start this by saying thank you to everyone around the web3 world that has reached out to offer opportunities and support during this time of cataclysmic events. Most importantly, thank you to our beloved Terra community for your patience as we choose our next steps carefully and for giving us a chance to build our initial product in your ecosystem. Lunatics will always hold a special place in our hearts as we continue to build the best platform for NFTs that we believe people deserve.

After exploring all the options, OnePlanet has partnered with Polygon to become a dedicated marketplace for all migrating Terra NFT projects to the Polygon ecosystem.

Why We Chose Polygon

This decision to migrate to Polygon comes with extensive research and input from our stakeholders. After many days of meetings and conversations with dozens of foundations and representatives from other blockchains, Polygon became the clear partner as a new home for OnePlanet and the Terra NFT projects that are migrating with us. Taking into consideration the key factors such as mass adoption, market opportunities, stability and foundation-level support, we found that Polygon is currently the most prominent chain with so many big projects and entities onboarding.

Polygon is home to some of the world’s leading brands in web2 and web3 with names like Stephen Curry/Under Armour, Adidas, Sandbox, Decentraland and Aavegotchi. These partnerships put Polygon as a leader for mass adoption from both crypto and non-crypto native worlds. Moreover, Polygon has the low gas fee of $0.0025 on average and high throughput of being able to process up to 7,000 transactions per second, which shows huge potentiality to bring a larger audience to the chain.

We also took a look at the whole NFT ecosystem in general and cannot overlook the demand of scaling solutions for NFT projects in an EVM environment. Ethereum layer 1 continues to be the dominant space with the most liquidity but quickly prices collections out of reach for many people.

Since its inception in 2017, Polygon (first known as Matic) has been added to most centralized exchanges and attracted many developers. With a robust ecosystem of DeFi, DAO and developer tools as well as stablecoins,
Polygon has a TVL of $2.7 bn (Polygon Bridge TVL in Ethereum of $5.6 bn) and monthly MAU of 1 mm, providing ample liquidity and exposure to users.

Over the past year, Polygon Technology and Polygon Studios have been making important strides to develop their NFT ecosystem — there are partnerships with big players like Stripe, Meta, E-Bay and Animoca Brands. Polygon Studios has also been helping celebrities and large commercial and consumer brands launch their own custom NFT models and marketplaces. OnePlanet and Terra NFT projects will be able to take a huge role in diversifying the NFT ecosystem along with these big brands, inviting the mass audience to the world of NFTs.

What are the Benefits of This Partnership with Polygon?

There are many ways that this partnership will benefit the NFT ecosystem as a whole but today we will focus on the two that will provide immediate support for both Terra and Polygon NFT projects and communities. We will be going into a partnership with Polygon Studios that will give us foundation-level support to ensure we can continue to build towards our roadmap.

One of the benefits is that we will be the first Polygon-native launchpad and marketplace that will create a natural center of the Polygon NFT universe. The second benefit will be in the form of financial support, a multi-million dollar fund for the projects and community, which will be further explained below.

OnePlanet’s Next Steps and Ark*One Support

We have all endured many losses with the recent events in Terra, including our treasuries, sense of community and the inability to run our projects in a stable environment. We hope that we can restore some of what you’ve lost and establish a sense of security as we move forward with as many NFT projects as we can. Our belief remains that migrating as a collective to a booming ecosystem like Polygon will increase our chances of having successful launches and focus on building the future of NFT technology.

For the next coming months, OnePlanet will be supporting the soft landings of Terra NFT projects as well as building for a flawless migration of OnePlanet ourselves. In a few weeks, current holders of Terra NFT projects will be able to migrate and then list their NFTs on the new OnePlanet marketplace in the Polygon blockchain. Launchpad will resume soon after.

Projects can apply for the migration through submitting a form, and we will review the eligibility of the projects to grant a certain amount of funds for executing their roadmaps. Full technical support with the snapshot and migration will be provided along the way. Various campaigns and events will be followed in terms of marketing support to introduce Terra projects to the Polygon community. In addition, we will also support all the innovative and creative NFT projects, which have not yet been released.
