$TOWER Token Chooses OnePlanet to List Project NFTs
Gaming has gone mainstream.
No longer is the video gaming industry dominated by the stereotypical pimply teen, as out of the 3.24 billion global gamers, the median age is 35. It’s hard to fathom, but the gaming industry now earns more than the music and movie industries combined. It even crossed the line from fun to finance, as the play-to-earn (P2E) concept allowed gamers to receive rewards with monetary value, which were all the rage until inherent systemic flaws in this model sent developers scattering in search of a better way.
About the “TOWER Experiment”
In March 2021, the project published a Lightpaper that detailed the mechanism and vision of the “TOWER Experiment.” The project is a Web 3 gaming project initiated by Animoca Brands that targets to implement Web3 components into a traditional Free-to-Play mobile game, Crazy Defense Heroes.
They first went with the flow of Play-to-earn (P2E) and introduced 2 iconic events in March 2022, the XP Gain Event and the ”Daily Star Chest ‘’ Event. Later, recognizing the limitations and flaws of the P2E model from some countries, the project started gradually embracing the new models of Play-to-Own, Own-to-Earn by reinforcing the importance of NFT ownership.
To continuously expand their gaming empire, the team partnered with Polygon NFT marketplace OnePlanet, listing 3 of their iconic NFT collections, including TOWER Battle Card, TOWER Treasury, and TOWER Achievement Badge NFT (Soulbound Token, learn more from the TOWER Medium) collections.
OnePlanet will be the first exclusive partner supporting TOWER NFT trading with Polygon TOWER Token, also the viewing of the Achievement Badge Soulbound Token.
Fun ahead of Finance
Crazy Defense Heroes has a unique, cartoonish look and loads of lore and game content, with more than 1000+ stages and collectible game cards of various rarities and powers.
A company spokesman noted that “Crazy Defense Heroes evolved with the market and the technology.” TOWER sought to design games so engaging that the ability to earn would only be a secondary benefit. Their mission was accomplished, as the games now have over 2 million downloads and thousands of loyal players.
Powering the TOWER Economy
$TOWER (TOWER Token), is the ecosystem’s currency and plays an integral role. TOWER is all in on Web3, enabling users to connect their digital wallets and also use NFTs in gameplay.
Catering to both hardcore and casual players, there are various ways you can earn $TOWER from playing Crazy Defense Heroes. Hardcore players can participate in the XP Gain event to accumulate as much XP (Avatar experience) and Daily Star Chest check-in events (more information can be found here in the Fandom Guide.) Once earned, the tokens can be used to pay for different game modes, purchase items like NFT cards, vote on proposals, and pay for tournament entry fees. These tournaments feature global in-game special events that challenge the skill, strategy, and assets of players. Winners are determined by a tiered leaderboard system, and prizes include $TOWER and NFTs.
Choosing Polygon
Originally on the Ethereum chain, TOWER gradually shifted their developments into the Polygon Chain after the first 2 Chest NFT sale. They chose the rapidly growing blockchain behemoth based on several criteria. Polygon not only offered lower gas fees to conduct transactions and developments, but also showed their support for blockchain gaming projects. The TOWER team also anticipates the ecosystem to grow exponentially in the future, as the platform continues to stockpile big partnerships.
Landing on OnePlanet
Now, TOWER decided to partner with OnePlanet and list their major NFT collections: TOWER Battle Cards, TOWER Treasury, and TOWER Achievement Badge NFTs.
The TOWER Treasury contains all materials and resource NFTs of the TOWER Franchise, and all the items can be utilized in the blockchain games. Currently, the TOWER Treasury NFTs contain map NFTs, TOWER Ticket, and Avatar Skins bridged from the BNB Chain.
The TOWER Battle Cards consist of numerous instruments of warfare, some of which are more traditional (swords, shields, and helmets) and some very unique (girdle of pain, pumpkin bombs, and bear traps). There are over 400 weapons and equipment cards to collect, and these are used to battle fearsome hordes of fantasy creatures across 1,000 fun-filled levels in the realm of Evils.
The partnership with TOWER and the integration of the $TOWER token will be a first for OnePlanet, as these collections can only be traded with the $TOWER token. While the primary focus for OnePlanet is typically NFT utility, the same conversation can be had concerning tokens. Trading NFTs with $TOWER adds utility to the token, as it becomes part of the flywheel in the gaming ecosystem.
How to Get $TOWER
The TOWER collections can only be traded on OnePlanet with the $TOWER token, which can be obtained in several ways. You can earn the token through gameplay if you hold at least 1 TOWER Battle Card NFT, allowing you to join the TOWER franchise’s latest P2E events such as Avatar XP Gain and Daily Star Chest. The more cards you hold, the more rewards you can earn.
You can also obtain $TOWER by exchanging $MATIC for $TOWER directly on the TOWER Website or by checking CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko for trading pairs of $TOWER on various exchanges. You can use various DEXs and CEXs (Uniswap, KuCoin, QuickSwap, SushiSwap, ApeSwap, BitMart, and Mexc Global) to obtain the token.
