This is the second part of the main post, ‘Setting up home cocktail bar — Zero to One’. If you have somehow landed here directly and want to start from the beginning, here is the link to go back.

Here is the plan

I will give you the recipes of all the 11 cocktails in this post, and run you through the detailed procedure in making 3 cocktails, that would help you get all the basics and techniques right. Post this, you would only need the recipes of any cocktail and you would do great.

Get ready with your bottle of Bourbon and a bottle of Vodka.
Like I previously mentioned, the quality of ingredients is one of the key elements in the cocktail’s taste, so go with some good brands.

Here is a tip you could try. Start with one kind — vodka or bourbon, whichever is your favourite. Get a bottle of good quality vodka or bourbon and dedicate it to make only cocktails.

Do not deviate from the recipes given here until you make your first few cocktails. You can experiment, once you understand how these ingredients add taste to the cocktails.

Recipes with detailed steps

  1. New Yorker | Bourbon cocktail | Served in a cocktail glass

2. Hawaiian Sea Breeze| Vodka cocktail | Served in a cocktail glass

3. Mint Julep| Bourbon cocktail | Served in an old-fashioned glass

Before getting into the quick recipes of all the 11 cocktails, let me cover the last but one of the most important points — Cleaning.

A clean bar is a great motivator to make the drink next time. So, keep your bar setup always clean.

Have a couple of clean cotton cloths to dry wipe the glassware once washed with soap, so that no marks left by water droplets on the glasses.
