Tapas and Bodegones: In spanish countries, tapas refer to food prepared and served in small portions, in philippine concept, it refers to dried or smoked meat. The spanish TAPAS is related to the filipino concept of pica pica. This exhibition allows us viewers to differentiate spanish cooking from philippine cooking and how they translate it to art. Bodegones for the filipinos represents kitchen pictures with cornucopic bounty and domestic warmth that relates to the bright filipino spirit.
Philippine contemporary: Not allowed to take a picture.
Gold and Pottery: Under renovation.
For me, the Metropolitan Museum is more of food paintings and how it lets the viewers appreciate food and its beauty. The National Meseum is more of paintings and sculptors.
