Cue Card — Paper Hint
Short speech in connection with the inauguration of First Media presence in Malang which took place in Malang Town Square, brought interesting by prof. Dr. Didik Junaidi Rachbini as Independent Commissioner. Speech opened with audiences participation through one soul greeting.
If any feedback I can give in the event is about the cue card in use by him. The cue card is too large and disturbs the audience’s view.
Cue card or often mentioned with note cards a card that contains notes and serves to help actors and speakers remember what they will convey. Cue cards themselves were originally popularized by John Barrymore in the late 1930s.
There are several ways to create an interesting cue card:
1. Size
The size of the cue card should not be too big. its better only a quarter of HVS. paper that is too large will prevent your audience from seeing your face
2. Posts
Avoid handwriting. Type in neatly and make sure the letters are legible. Note also the type of font and color you use.
It would be nice, every major point different colors so easy for you to distinguish quickly. besides, make sure you give the numbers for each of your points.
Remember also not to use colors that are too “sharp” like yellow, because it will be difficult to see. dark colors that contrast with backgrounds such as black, dark blue, dark red or brown can be your choice
Include the page number on each of your cue card if it is more than 1 sheet so it is easier for you to see the sequence when the paper is scrambled
3. Coated the Paper
Coated the paper is, so neat and not tangled. coated the paper will give an elegant effect to your audience
So, if at school you and I were forbidden to cheat in public speaking you can do it, but do it elegantly.
