WURD RADIO LAUNCHES FIRST EMPOWERMENT EXPO
Community Event Will Feature Holiday Marketplace, Wellness Pavilion and Job Information Center
(Philadelphia, PA) — WURD Radio (96.1FM / 900AM / WURDRadio.com / WURD App), the only African American owned and operated talk radio station in Pennsylvania, and one of a few in the country, will be holding its first-ever Empowerment Expo on Saturday, December 2, 2017, 10am — 6pm ET at the Community College of Philadelphia. This extensive one-of-a-kind interactive event will offer a three-pronged experience for the entire family. There will be many activities, including: a Holiday Marketplace featuring an array of small businesses providing numerous gift shopping options this holiday season; a Wellness Pavilion providing life-saving health screenings and resources focused on total wellness; and a Career and Job Resources Center offering information about new and exciting job opportunities in the Philadelphia region.
The WURD Empowerment Expo will also feature three compelling panel conversations: Mind Your Business, focused on the challenges of growing and building small businesses within our communities; a Diversity and Inclusion Career Roundtable that will cover the importance of diversity in the Philadelphia business eco-system; and Violence as a Public Health Issue will address the growing problem of violence by examining the mental, emotional and physical impact it is having on our community. Between each panel discussion there will be special workshops on wealth creation, wellness, technology and more! The entire day will be broadcast live on WURD Radio.
