I really wish companies would be more transparent about their candidate rejection reasons. From this day on, I was even more disappointed — both with myself and tech hiring process — rejection, rejection, rejection. It honestly feels as if I am a complete failure and an unhirable candidate.
Me too. Your article is resounding, and I am quite frustrated myself, but with the additional fact that there is this massive movement denying the existence of females in tech and minorities in tech in general….
We keep hearing that the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers are suffering from low…medium.com
What I find even more frustrating, is that a lot of my interviews aren’t usually technical, but rather overall dismissive or demeaning. At least they ask you questions and seem interested in your technical aptitude…I’d rather be thrown at a white board and asked to solve a real problem than to be probed with an insulting single question like “We wear hardhats and steel toe shoes here. You okay with that?” and a half hour rant about the company to get a rejection letter months later…rejected for what, I still don’t understand…At least being rejected for not knowing something is better than rejected for no clear reason at all.
