Gay characters should only be played by gay actors, Trans by Trans, and straight by straight actors, mermaids by mermaids, oh wait — it’s acting. Acting by it’s very soul is an actor dropping their own Identity and pretending to be someone or something else (even a tree!). Should more Trans get more parts? If they can act then yes. But I am not willing to place an artist/actor in a box and tell them they don’t qualify because of their gender/gender identity. And neither should you
