Big Time Studios Announces Deeper Integration with the Metaverse through Decentraland
Open Loot marketplace will begin accepting $MANA for payments on any loot package in Big Time world
We’re incredibly excited to share this news with you all! Starting today, we’re expanding our payment options within the Open Loot marketplace to begin accepting $MANA, the first open metaverse token. We hope that this will broaden the options for gamers who want to use more versatile cryptocurrencies for purchases on the platform.
One of our co-founders, Ari Meilich, was also an original co-founder and Project Lead of Decentraland, the popular virtual social network that has paved the way for metaverse adoption. The collaboration with the Decentraland Foundation will focus on fostering NFT interoperability across virtual worlds, an area where the Decentraland team has paved the way.
“As part of our push to launch Big Time to the biggest number of players, it is my honor to announce that our Marketplace will be accepting $MANA, the most widely adopted metaverse token, thus opening up the doors to hundreds of thousands of metaverse OGs to access our products” said Ari Meilich, Founder of Big Time Studios.
This announcement is great for Big Time users and Open Loot developers alike because it brings the Decentraland community to our world. Decentraland is the leading metaverse and playground for gamification, and this new expansion will increase both the size of our community and the potential for new business opportunities.
As an open world that is improving on interoperability every day between other metaverses and gaming communities, Decentraland is a perfect partner for Big Time Studios and Open Loot. One key observation this year watching Decentraland develop has been how many globally recognized, household-name brands they have been working with. The trend that has emerged has been that the more gamified an experience, the more successful the activation.
LaLigaLand was one activation that saw incredible success with Vegas City, a digital community inside Decentraland, bringing La Liga, the international soccer association, into the metaverse. Another gamified experience that created headlines worldwide was Netflix LatAm’s The Gray Man experience, which saw users navigate a maze that was a digital twin from the movie’s famous climax.
“The gaming world is evolving. Through this integration, Decentraland creators will now have an entirely new ecosystem to create and grow from, with $MANA now entering Open Loot, one of the largest web3 gaming platforms. Decentraland community’s goal is to build a virtual world that is controlled by users, and to do that we promote creatives who are designing the next phase of the connected web. Decentraland Foundation is proud to encourage the growth of independent gaming developers like Big Time Studios and support their mission to build engaging and fun games for a global audience,” said Agustin Ferreira, Executive Director of the Decentraland Foundation.
As part of this integration and partnership announcement, gamers can gain early access to Big Time by completing any purchase on Open Loot with $MANA for the rest of December. Mana purchasers will gain access to Play Big Time on January 5th 2023 at 8pm EST. Both teams will work together to foster the interoperability of NFTs across the virtual world.
