The theory of biocentrism posits that we actually do create reality ourselves. I have no real opinion on it, I merely want to point out that there is a body of scholarship that refutes your main point here.
Now as to your secondary point: Christians always take the tack, as you have done here, that the only possible explanation for a rejection of Christianity is ignorance. That view is not only insulting, it is incorrect. In fact, I would say it is my familiarity with the topic that brought me to where I am today.
I spent years in Christian school and Bible study. When I began to study ancient mythologies it became clear that the Bible consisted mainly of recycled Egyptian myths. Moreover, Christianity is notable for its stunning lack of evidence. This is a system I was raised in and was taught to believe. I was never one to accept blindly and I found that Christianity did not hold up under the barest of scrutiny.
No amount of well meaning thinly veiled threats issued under the guise of “love" can change the knowledge I’ve gained after years of inquiry. Those of us outside the sphere of Christianity request only one thing: love us less, respect us more.
