An Inside Outsider’s Perspective
Tim Schraeder

“I realize now that may have been doing more harm than good. I regret that I allowed my light to burn dimly and that I stayed in the shadows. I regret that I didn’t push harder or that I didn’t speak up louder. And I lament over the fact that, all the while, so many LGBTQ+ people continued to suffer.”

I hope that you find a way to forgive yourself the same way you’d likely forgive others for similar journeys. Who you were when you were less strong or maybe just less supported or ready than you are today is just that — someone who needed more confidence, strength, support, and time. You aren’t fighting on your own.
