Digital Nomadism has grown in popularity over recent years and looks to continue to rise in the coming years. This concept of working allows people to spend their lives travelling, whether this be to different cities, countries, or even continents, and work remotely, as a freelancer during their travels. Digital Nomadism has become a significant trend in the industry, and is fast gaining momentum. In fact, research suggests there will be 1billion Digital Nomads by 2035.

Finding a Wi-Fi connection

Though this has become easier than it once was, relying on there to be an internet connection wherever you are can be a struggle. There is no guarantee you’ll be able to find this, and in the past individuals would have to plan their trip around where they can work. However, with the rise of co-working spaces and ‘coffee shop offices’ becoming the new normal, this is slowly becoming less of a challenge. It is also best to research ahead as much as possible before you travel to find the best spots with a Wi-Fi connection to work from.

Living away from home

As many can find when travelling alone, it can often be lonely being so far away from friends and family. Especially those who travel around constantly, it can be difficult not having any nearby concrete friendships or like-minded people. It can also be challenging to work in such an environment. Some of us prefer to work alone, however others thrive in an office environment being surrounded by people.

Sense of routine

Escaping the strict office hours is a significant benefit of Digital Nomadism, and not having to work the your set office hours is often a dream for many of us. However, as much as we complain about this, it does provide a certain structure and routine to our lives. Digital Nomads can often feel as though they lose a sense of structure when they do not live by strict working hours, which can be a confusion to many, especially when regular travelling is thrown into the mix. As difficult as it may be, we recommend to have as much structure in your day as you can, to avoid any confusion and potential stress.

Utilising blockchain technology, we’re working to make the process of freelancing as streamlined and pain-free as possible. Though we’re not able to overcome the challenge of living away from home, we’re helping create a better, more efficient and trusted environment based on verified and immutable data.

By using blockchain, businesses will have proof of successful deliveries to previous employers, be able to reduce HR costs by having access to talent around the world and tools to onboard and manage these decentralised workforces backed on AI and gamification. Freelancers will be able to use smart contracts to sign and bound digitally, verify the employer’s solvability and have proof of revenue verifies on the blockchain.

Founded in Switzerland, Orbi Network is disrupting the freelance industry and redesigning the employment market with its decentralised blockchain platform that ensures transparency and verified data for the economy. Orbi Network has developed two protocols based on NFTs (non-fungible tokens), for professional ID & reputation and intellectual property based on the ERC 780 and 721 standards.
