We continue our series presenting tools for designers. Today we take a close look at Stock Photos. The best sources of free images have been digged out specially for you! All photos below are the stocks based on Creative Commons license, type CCO or CC BY. CCO license allows you to download, edit, copy and distribute files. Authors of pictures on websites with CCO license had voluntarily shared their photos, thus renounced the copyright to them. CC BY license is slightly more restrictive. Just as CCO, you can download, modify, copy and distribute the images, but you have to put information about its author.

The Stocks
The Stocks is a collection of free images from 16 other sites, like: Pixabay, Unsplash or New Old Stock. All for free in good resolution.
Passel
In our list Passel could not be omitted. Photos for free from more than 25 other sites, like Little Visuals, Jay Mantri, or Epicantus Designer Picks. There is slightly more than 6,000 photos now and the number continues to grow. Passel also allows you to tag your photos, which improves search.
We highly recommend these two websites mentioned above! Mainly because they are gathering photos from multiple sources, which means that you will not have to visit 15 pages in search of free images — one search does it for you on one page. For those who do, however, feel a bit hungry for more, we’re tossing a few stocks that neither Passel nor TheStocks have in their resources.
Tookapic Stock
Tookapic provides more than 8,000 stock photos, and quite worth to check out. Everything is neatly categorized thematically.
StockSnap
Free Stock Photos on CO license zdjęć (licencja CCO), where you can view the pictures by popularity or just use the search engine.
Foodies Feed
Fun for all foodies out there— pictures of food.
Life of Pix
Free high resolution photos on CCO license brough to you by Leeroy agency based in Montreal.
Freerange Stock
A very large database of stock photos, registration is required.
Good Stock Photos
Free stock photos from Spark Up Arts crew.
RGB Stock
Loads of free images in pretty good quality. You have to register though.
Kaboompics
On Kaboompics you can choose pictures from abstract theme, city and architecture, fashion, food, landscapes or you can search by tag or traditional search engine.
