It’s true that we are compromised in many ways by the technologies we adopt and attend, and that ‘conveniences’ often carry hidden costs or damage that can be difficult to become aware of or respond to.
On the other hand… there are always groups of people doing amazing things, learning, growing, and caring about each other. And the world, its history and future. One has to be careful of evaluating the entire species according to the failings of a specific cohort or group; it’s easy to decide that all humans are some way based on the excessive failings of ‘the median population’… but I suspect that such concerns are not actually much like the world we actually live in. It is a world of incredible diversity… and we are incredibly diverse as human beings.
