The case for crying
Tears purposely kept inside can make you feverish
The lump in your throat chokes your emotions
The searing pain along your jawline makes you feel
like lime juice runs through your blood vessels
The whites in your eyes are Jackson Pollocked with red
Your pupils glisten with the dullness of pain
Knots and bolts intersperse your muscle fibres
The worst part is
You’re not really hiding anything
Because it’s all evident in your face
Take a break darling
Go to the bathroom and cry
Congratulations on beginning the journey to freedom.
