I read Hal’s book a little over one year ago. I followed most everything he suggests in the book for my morning routine. In general:

  • Meditate (guided by Calm app)
  • Affirmation (usually with a couple of words — blessed, capable, etc)
  • Journal (5-minute Journal App)
  • Exercise for 30+ mins
  • Listen to audible book, podcast and/or read iPad
  • Visualization — this mostly based on my aspirations for the day…I admittedly have room to improve

My goal is to complete all of the in time to help with our two kid’s morning routine that starts around 7am. So this means I try to get up about 2 hours before our morning routine (so I target 5am). I think this can transfer to anybody’s schedule. Hal suggests 10 minutes exercise. I tend to exercise and read more. You make a great point that much of the success relies on a reasonable bedtime. I require at least six hours but do much better with seven…so 10pm is my goal, but I can up as late as 11pm and still get the job done.
