3 things I want to accomplish

So it’s been a month and some change since I made my New Year’s Resolutions and I have a better idea of what I need to actually focus on this year. I narrowed it down to three areas today,

I have three overarching goals to try to focus on for this year, in order of importance:

  1. My weight — I let things get out of control since about 2010 or 2011 and now I have a lot to lose. I’ve been dieting for a few weeks and don’t really feel like the diet is taking much out of me, just been slow on the weight loss at the start since I haven’t been taking it as seriously as I should. I’m pretty confident if I can keep this rhythm that I’ll be on easy street though and I’ve been surprised at how easy it is to stick to rules I’ve created out of thin air. My goal is to lose 70 pounds total (no idea how long that will actually take though), wish me luck!
  2. Kanji — I spent too many years studying Japanese to let my studies die like they have for the past 5 years (damn, that’s so much longer than I had hoped it had been). This blog is probably going to become largely focused on this task since it is the one I need to keep spinning the most if I want to actually work on it.
  3. Level-headedness— I mean this all-around. I still find that I’m more emotion-driven than I’d like to be, especially when I’m stressed out or tired. My goal is to, well, stop being so stressed out and tired by sleeping and meditating more, focusing on hobbies outside of my career, and in general, remembering that things will probably work themselves out.
