…they are physically present in a digital space. That sensation of “being there” is called presence. Presence is partly achieved through the technology — the processing power, the graphics, the display, but it’s also achieved through the consistency and richness of the story-worlds we create. It’s up to us to convince the audience to suspend disbelief enough to feel present in mind, body and soul.
