Hey Vince Angeloni, thanks for the elaborate response! I must agree with your view on things, and it’s also bothering me.
Here’s a thought: I feel they are creating space for a professional-aimed player in the market. I would like a MacOS Pro with Macbook… SuperPro. Less eyecandy, zero animated emoji, twenty ports on each side, MagSafe, HDMI and jack included.
Hey nynhex, thanks for the feedback. Dell sent me a few of their latest models, and I must say I was quite impressed. Good build quality, felt like a proper device (which most brands still lack a bit when you’re used to the MBP). Tell them I said hi.
Thanks for your feedback, Jeff Mcneill.
I feel our needs are a bit different (muscle, adobe suite, movie editing, etc.), it’s great to see that more and more people find their way to OSS, even combining it with paid apps (which I’m a big fan of), and sad that out of the box desktop distros like LMDE or Antergos still aren’t enough. There is still work to be done (read: opportunity).
Hi Gambero Verde, I wish I had that list before I got started :-) Thanks for that, I’ll look into it!
I agree with your takes on UI and icon sets, the interface is the product, so you can already win or lose a lot of people here. Maybe I should offer my services as Interface Designer for OSS :-)
Thanks for the feedback, have a great weekend!
Paranoid Android, thanks for your contribution, that’s a technical level above my pay grade, I’m afraid :-) I’m not at the level of render farms, it’s more about basic daily use, but at least at Adobe level, with some interconnectivity.
Blackmagic Davinci Resove: I’m all for paying for proper software, I’ll have a look…
