I suspect you’re white. Talk to somebody who isn’t, about their general perception of and experience with law enforcement in the US. Such nonchalance about extended involvement with law enforcement, such comfort that the outcome would be positive? Would not be so likely in the US, especially for anybody of color.

Then go read about bias and privilege. Read about the militarization of civilian policing. Realize your sheltered personal lack of experience isn’t the experience of many other people.

Then go apologize to the universe for being so dense for so long.

Also, I don’t think “quantum” means what you think it means.
