Challenges of Local Storage

While creating the website in my grade 11 Computer Science course, there were many problems that I encountered and one of them was the local storage. Local Storage allows data to be stored locally without affecting the performance of the website. This is a very useful tool, which is why it was extremely important for it to be executed correctly. One of the issues that I faced was determining exactly what the code was and where it needed to go in the program.

Finding a solution to this problem was quite simple but it still took some time for me to figure it out. The reason for this was because I spent a lot of time trying to find the solution myself. While I was doing this, I had not taken into consideration the different resources I had which could help me solve the issue. After spending a fair amount of time approaching the problem individually, I started looking for online resources and sought help from my peers. One of the websites that had a well organized method on solving the issue was W3Schools. This website gave a step by step solution and it also gave definitions of terms so the viewer could get a better understanding on certain concepts. Using this website helped a lot because I was able to solve the problem and got to learn more about that topic. Here is the link to the local storage tutorial that I used. http://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_webstorage.asp. In my opinion, this was best way to learn about local storage because it allowed you to try out the code yourself. This gives you a better understanding of what needs to be done and it is also easier to find out a mistake you might have made with your own code. I was ecstatic when I found the solution because I got an idea of how useful W3Schools is, and it led me to find the answers to other problems online rather than struggling with them for a long period of time.

In the future, if I ever run into a situation like this one, I will always have a different approach now. Due to this experience, I now understand that if there is ever an issue, whether it is code related or not, online resources will almost always have the answer. Also, I will not hesitate to ask for help from my peers or a superior in order to avoid wasting valuable time. This is going to be even more important in the years to come because as an employee in a company, time is of the essence and it is essential to run efficiently. Overall, by facing this challenge, I was able to find out a really quick way of solving problems. By asking help from my peers and using the available resources.
