I wholeheartedly agree with you that Arrival succeeds where Interstellar falls short. Instead of trying to hammer home a sentimental message, Arrival delivered its meaning and large questions in a more subtle way. As in Enemy (which you mention), this really is a movie that stays with you afterwards.
