Are ALL Muslims Explosive?

In this new world order, if you step on the pin of being a Muslim, you’re explosive. Any contact with you is not the bomb but a bomb. To put in another way, Muslims are seen as combustible in contemporary times.

To elaborate the phobia about these set of humans, permit me, dear reader, to narrate a brief experience.

Russell Square, London. We alighted the. London Underground train then mounted the lift that takes everyone onto the platform. Inside the lift, everyone busied themselves with their phones, throwing cold stares at each other as if morning was a curse to human existence. Then, a sound broke our temporary silence, a ring tone: “Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!

Faces jumped off their skins, sights crept out of their eyes looking for the owner of the phone, silent murmurs about the ringing phone ejected the silence.

“I’m sorry”, a bearded man, of Arabic decent, who stood in the corner of the lift, professed. Again, he retorted “I’m sorry”. For some seconds, no one replied.

Then a white brother asked “You want to blow us up? You guys just won’t give up, right?” The words rolled out of his mouth unapologetically.

A white sister replied to the white brother: “that’s so rude and ignorant of you to say.”

The lift arrived reached the station’s platform peacefully and the bearded man walked out of the station in a flash. He could have won Usain Bolt in a hundred metre dash with his mammoth steps.

The belief that a few dangerous men, killing in the name of religion, represent the Islam is not only myopic but also ignorant. This ignorance as displayed by the white brother in the lift was recently exhibited by Ben Carson, Donald Trump, Bill Maher and other respected individuals too numerous to name. Charles Blow is right when he states that “The tone of anti-Muslim musings post-Paris attack has become so poisonous that it cannot portend anything positive.”

There are over a billion Muslims in the world warring against fundamentalism and fundamentalists, these individuals who lead exemplary lives should be not be stereotyped because it will not achieve “anything positive”.

Are All Muslims explosives?
