This picture is something that is very familiar to us from a different angle. Because it had just rained before photographing, I used that as an opportunity to capture a picture of this tree through an angle that shows it as a reflection through the water.
Another use of the water today is shown through this close up. I wanted to get a picture of the small ripples in the puddle caused by the rain drops. It looks especially cool on my iPhone as a live picture.
I never noticed the rocks in the concrete on a path I walked today. I took a picture of it because all of the rocks are placed evenly spaced from each other, and the end of the regular sidewalk meeting the more unique sidewalk creates an eye pleasing picture.
This is a picture of a crosswalk across Wisconsin, a very busy street. You can notice that the light warns pedestrians that cars are crossing, and they should wait. Something that scares me is that one day i’ll get hit by a car walking a path like this when the wait light is on.
For this picture I sat and watched the road for 60 seconds with no distractions. I noticed the different sounds of the many cars that passed by as well as the wind, trees, birds, and students.
This pictures represents what I learned today. We were taught that photography means writing with light. When writing with either words or pictures, peoples interpretations of the meaning is often different. Many of the same pictures can be connected to different meanings to different people. To me, this picture shows a story of an eye-pleasing mesh between nature and mankind.
Something beautiful I found today were the green leaves with water drops on them. The different variants of green on the leaves is what caught my eye to take the picture.
The circle on the road is my wild card picture. I have no idea what caused this, but the circle on the road and the squares on the sidewalk made for a cool picture.
Although I did not find the actual time capsule on Marquette’s campus, I did find a little time capsule of my own in my eyes. Last year I roomed on the 9th floor of Abbotsford and seeing the sign brought back good memories from last year.
A place that reminds me of home is a path through a couple apple trees on campus. Although I’m sure you can’t eat the apples off of this tree, they did remind me of the apple trees in the front yard of my house back home. It was always a good time at home when the apples turned a red color like the ones in the picture, and we were able to pick them.
This is a picture of a random person that I met walking around campus. His name was Paul and he insisted that he made a funny face for the picture. I found out that he lives in the same dorm as me. I asked him because he was watching me take pictures.
To me, the sign hanging up on the building is one of the newest things I could find on campus. This building is on the other side of the road from Abbotsford. Living in Abbotsford last year, I have walked by that building many times, and today was the first time seeing it, so it must be fairly new. It makes an interesting picture because it is a nice clean sign hanging up on and older building, causing the message to really pop out.
This is a picture of a sign on campus that inspires me. Be the Difference seems to be Marquette’s biggest slogan, and I remember seeing the message my senior year of high school when deciding what college to pick. I like how the yellow and blue of the sign stick out with the greens of the nature surrounding it.
This pictures shows two contrasting textures. On one side there is a brick wall, which is made up of many rectangular bricks. The bricks are all different shades of brown, outlined, and are rough. On the other half of the picture is a grey door, which unlike the brick, is smooth, one solid color, and has tiny circles all over it.
This is a student favorite building on campus because of the unusual architecture. This picture represents my dreams because my dreams are never normal.
The first picture that I took is one that makes me feel safe. The fire hydrant reminds me of people such as firefighters that come to aid us when things go bad. The picture is cool because the hydrant looks old and rustic, while the surrounding area is fresh bright green grass.
My last picture is one of the church in the background. This is the oldest thing that I saw on campus and I think the light blue on the church makes it stick out in such a crowded picture.
