The Real Reasons Why So Many Trumpers Are Getting Shunned
Elections have consequences.
My recent articles about cutting off people who voted for Trump have been getting a lot of blowback — often from people who are very clearly right-wing.
In the part of New Jersey where I live, being a Trump supporter is basically a given. You don’t see people touting Harris often. Those who do often get openly mocked or told off by their neighbors. It can even cost you a job.
And yet, I still see the occasional Harris supporter talking about how they had to cut off their family members and former friends over the election. This is not a new thing; it’s been happening since 2016.
It first started with a trickle. Now, it’s turned into a flood of people bidding farewell to those around them over politics. It’s turned into people shuttering their social media platforms — not to mention using the block button liberally.
Many right-wing people don’t understand why they’re getting blackballed over Trump.
Despite people explaining to them that their politics were a dealbreaker, right-wing individuals still haven’t figured out why their former friends won’t talk to them. It’s “just politics,” such a silly thing, right!
