Komeito and Japanse Politics
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Komeitō_(1962–98)
I wanted to write on Japanese politics. Japan has a dominant party system which is an interesting situation. The election polling for the next general election has a lot of people undecided or not yet choosing a party to support, so when it happens it can go anyway.
The above article is the one with the polling at the bottom, unless it eventually gets to big and is turned into a unique article which happens a lot with election articles.
I included an article on the party in a government alliance ever since 1998 when the two parties agreed to ally with each other electorally.
Japan has a mixture of single member district voting and party list voting for the proportional seats. So you can vote for one party for you district and one party for the proportional seats. Sometimes single member district seats will have several parties endorse one candidate as seen in various articles on Japanese elections where a person from one party or even an independent is listed as being endorsed by one or more other parties. The LDP will endorse NKP candidates and NKP will endorse LDP candidates as well as other such parties endorsing them as shown in some cases too.
Since conservatism was being dicussed, I added a few more links on it.
