“The Episcopal Church’s governing bodies have overwhelmingly approved a resolution making church marriages available to same-sex couples.” This was in headlines everywhere when the news about their new decision “came out.” When I found out about this I was extremely saddened. Not because same-sex marriage was legalized but because a Christian denomination was supporting this legislation. It is one thing for people who clearly state that they do not believe in God and the Bible to support gay marriage — but it is something completely different when people who claim to be Christ followers and believe in the Bible, begin to follow something that clearly goes against those beliefs. The Bible is clear about its position on same sex marriage. (Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26–28, 1 Corinthians 7:2, Jude 1:7) When Christians begin to accept and dismiss parts of the Bible that fit in with their own personal agenda Christianity becomes worthless. Why believe in something that you can only believe in half way?
