Thank you so much for sharing. You elegantly captured a lot of the thoughts I’ve been having as someone who’s spent time learning about (as a Spanish major) and with (as a volunteer in West MI and friend) immigrants, but also who knows the privilege I’ve been afforded. It’s so hard to be the “other.” We could all be a little more empathetic.
