Today, I’m not going to talk about most expensive games ever made. Because probably all may know that they are GTA, Call of Duty, Star Wars etc. But what I do want to share with is a total revenue of famous games franchises.

So, here are top 7 billionaires:

#7

7th place goes to Dungeon Fighter Online — easy to learn but hard to master, true action South Korean video game with revenue of $10.5 billion. It’s a fantasy adventure with an epic story line and a variety of characters and what is more beautiful illustrations! More then 600 million players worldwide shoved love and support, hence proved Dungeon Fighter to be timeless classic. If you never played it, you still can be the hero of the next adventure!

#6

The next is Street Fighter, oh it’s not a movie with Jean-Claude Van Damme, it is much more exiting, a Japanese fighting video game developed and published by Capcom. The first game in the series was released in 1987 and afterward we have more series, versions and editions. In this game you can choose one character with unique fighting style with plenty moves, including grappling moves and throws, as well as attacks. Estimated revenue is $11.5 billion.

#5

The fifth is Space Invaders — an arcade game released in 1978, manufactured and sold by Taito in Japan. Here, you are a space ship who must destroy the invading enemy space ships as they descend upon your little 8-bit world. This simple idea made it one of the most addicting games that was ever made. The profit of this old classic is nearly $14 billions.

#4

We have one more Japanese $15 billionaire. Guess who, again, an arcade game, Pac-Man, designed over 18 months, developed by Namco and first released in May 1980. Just in case you forget, you should eat all the pellets to complete a stage while trying to score as many points as possible by eating fruit and ghosts along the way! Pac-Man was popular in the 80s, 90s and is still played now.

#3

I bet you know what a first-person shooter video game dedicated to the Second World War is going to be the next off-bird. Beyond doubt, it is well known Call of Duty incepted in 2003, published and owned by Activision with approximate income $16 billions. The theme and gameplay of Call of Duty are similar to the Medal of Honor, which also consists of single missions and campaigns, but, unlike the Medal of Honor, the war can be seen not only from American soldier side, but also Soviet and English ones. By the way, are you waiting October 12, the release day of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4?

#2

The second deserved place goes to Mario with estimated revenue of $26.2 billion published and produced by Nintendo in 1981. Did you know that fact that Mario was originally supposed to be a carpenter and his name should be jumpmen? Moreover, in early 90s American children recognized Mario more than they did Mickey Mouse. More than 500 million copies of Mario games have been sold, making it the best-selling video game franchise of all time.

#1

And the franchise winer is Pokemon created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996. Sure, you know about what the game is, but I’ll remind you, all game series in one way or another are connected with the creatures Pokemons, which people catch, train and develop in new forms in order to fight among themselves for the title of the best coach. So, the total revenue is more than $59 billions. Entire profit includes not only mobile games, but also retail sales, card game and others. Pokémon has had over 800 million mobile game downloads worldwide, just imagine this figure!

If you enjoy it, just clap👏 👏 👏
