PoetsUnlimited is built around a great family of poets from all around the world, creating interesting, engaging and compelling works from diverse perspectives. There are more than 200 of them now, many active regularly.
There are a few small changes to the Contributors’ Guide today. Perhaps a minor tweak or two since you’ve last read it. There’s always a typo or grammar fail to fix here and there, or a clarification to add.
A change for new contributors who wish to sign up, a small additional step just requests that they include a link to a sample poem on their Medium feed with the join request. Many already do this, but we’ve decided to make it an official requirement.
Mostly this just ensures that new contributors understand the requirements, and have figured out how to create a poem (aka story) on Medium before getting started with our audience.
The requirements remain pretty easy really. In simple words: use a title (even if it’s ‘untitled’) use a picture, and write a poem rather than prose. That’s about it. (Oh, also no political tirades or hate speech, but that’s probably obvious).
Both seasoned poets and newbies are welcomed equally, as usual. There is no judgement about your work beyond ensuring it meets those simple rules.
With more than 7000 readers subscribed to the publication, we seem to be doing something right. I think it’s that we’ve identified a specific niche in terms of content, and meet it with quality contributors.
Thanks for all your contributions, and welcome to all the new poets! Stay inspired and happy reading/writing.
