“First and foremost, I am a soldier.”
Three veterans explain why they’re standing with Hillary
These three Coloradans fought for their countries abroad. Now, they’re standing up in their communities at home—to advocate for veterans and to elect a president who will do the same. Here’s why Mike, Brittany, and Claudia are voting blue this fall.
Mike: Helping vets right their ship

Mike is a lifelong changemaker. After serving in the military, he started working with Colorado’s Veterans Trauma Court, a program that provides a rehabilitative path for veterans struggling with trauma and addiction. And this fall, he went to Philadelphia as a national delegate for Hillary. Mike’s committed to making a difference—and he knows his candidate is, too.
The effects of going to war are long-lasting, and Hillary knows that caring for our veterans requires a long-term plan. Not matter how much she has on her plate, she takes the time to focus on our service men and women. Trump, on the other hand, is all talk—talk that constantly contradicts itself and offers nothing of substance.
First and foremost, I am a soldier and I will always find myself taking care of my brothers and sisters in arms. That is why I couldn’t stand on the sidelines in this election.
Brittany: An advocate for veterans in higher education

Brittany was recruited while attending classes at Red Rocks Community College—and after returning from her service, she worked at the same college to help veterans on campus. She’s committed to helping every service member get the education they deserve. Here’s why.
With more and more veterans enrolling in college, it’s important that they can access their educational benefits. When I first started advocating for veterans, the VA was backlogged and education payments were often delayed. We need a leader who will take the time to ensure that higher education is accessible and affordable.
Hillary is just the type of leader that we need. As a former secretary of state, she is smart, reasonable, and makes calculated decisions, and doesn’t get sucked into unnecessary conflict. She is the type of person I trust to make the right decision when it comes to placing troops in harm’s way.
Claudia: “The time for VA reform is now!”

Claudia knows firsthand how frustrating VA backlogs can be. When she relocated to Denver from Georgia, she faced six months without mental and physical health care. Today, she’s committed to making sure every veteran can access the health care they need—and that’s why she’s committed to Hillary.
We need to remove the red tape that keeps veterans from getting the care they need. I know that Hillary will put the time and thought into re-energizing the VA system, especially the way mental health services are provided. The “hurry up and wait” method is not working, and we need to take serious action to end the high rates of veteran suicide.
Hillary will be the kind of president who truly thinks about the sacrifice of every service member.
Help us fight for accessible health care and education for veterans. Commit to vote for Hillary.
