What my mother taught me

By Iriana Reyes-Corral, campaign volunteer

Early on in my life, my mother recognized the value of a good education. A single mother, she used up her retirement savings to make sure I got just that. She worked for nonprofits that advocated for women and reproductive rights and racial justice, so I grew up with those values, too. She is committed to doing all the good she can and helping me do the same.

I’m so inspired by my mother — just like Hillary was inspired by her own.

Being a part of Hillary’s campaign is so important to me. When I make calls and register voters, I’m putting cracks in that big glass ceiling. I want young women to be able to fulfill their dreams, get paid fairly for our hard work, and say once and for all that a woman can be president of the United States of America.

Iriana, who supported Bernie Sanders during the primary, is a volunteer for Hillary Clinton in Denver, Colorado. This week, Iriana is giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the DNC over Snapchat. Add us so you don’t miss it!
