Medium.com author shocked to learn his only followers want to sell him stuff

Matt Biggers, of Seattle, Washington and founder of Outside the Cube Travel, recognized early on that Medium.com could be a game changer. He had so much to say and Medium.com promised him an audience.

Yet something was amiss. Matt had already already created several posts, but received zero likes. It’s difficult for Mr. Biggers to get the words out, but he bravely tries, “This is getting out of hand. Zero likes for the informative and hilarious bit on door photos? No feedback on the extremely long and not-so-well-written piece on choosing a guidebook?”

Matt found solace in knowing that although no one had liked his articles, he still a had a loyal group of followers. Sure, the list was small, but it was growing. Yes, at a glacial pace, but it was a beginning.

Staring off into the abyss, Matt wonders if he should throw in the towel on Medium.com or stick it out for his loyal group of followers. Will they stick by him when things get tough? Can this caption get any longer?…Yes.

“They keep me going. Frankly, I’m doing this for them,” Matt said of his followers. When asked to explain further, Matt replied, “They get me. My writing has always been the gateway to my soul. I feel our souls connect as they read it…wait, what? This must be a mistake.”

What is it?

“I’m looking at my followers and they’re all…corporations. I felt a connection. Was it only imagined? Real nowhere except in my mind? What’s next? Instagram?”

The tears that fall down his cheeks are indeed very real.
