Lightning port is the most vital part of any device. On breaking it, you can’t be able to charge or sync your phone. Ultimately, you can’t use your iPhone at all. Replacement of lightening port of iPhone 6 S plus requires around 30 minutes.

Required Tools and Parts:

Here is what tools you need while repairing a broken charge port of iPhone

· Replacement dock connector

· Suction Cup

· 5-point security Screwdriver

· Standard Philips Screwdriver

· Spudger tool

· Razorblade

· iSeasmo opening tool

Before start repairing, power off your phone. Now follow all the steps one by one to get your iPhone-6 S charging port repaired for a longer time period.

Step 1: Remove First Screen Assembly

Using the security screwdriver, Remove the two screws on either side of the dock at the bottom edge of your iPhone.

Apply the suction cup just above the home button. Gently pull up from the bottom but don’t pull the entire screen up because many cables are already attached via the top of the screen.

Swing up the display assembly to get to the shield which holds the cable in a place. Holding the display shield down, remove the three screws using a screwdriver. Set the shield aside. Note it down the exact location of screws.

Using your spudger tool, pry up the three cables that attach the display to the board. You can see only two cables as the third one is underneath. Make sure that display should be free from the device. The third one pops up when you remove the two cables. Set the device aside once it becomes free.

Step 2: Remove the Battery:

Now, it’s time to remove the battery. Unscrew the two screws of display shield that covers the battery connector. Now using the spudger tool, gently pry the connector off the board.

Now you are ready to remove the battery. Removing the battery requires the most care as a tiny fault may cause to damage the logic board. For battery removal, you should use the pliable iSeasmo opening tool.

From the top, left corner put the iSeasmo tool between the casing and battery and lift upwards gently. You will hear an adhesive crack. Now move your tool along the left side of the battery. Move the pry tool each time by applying pressure. After removing the battery, now it’s time to remove the dock connector assembly.

Step: 3 Remove the Dock Connector Assembly:

In this section, you will know how to remove the Dock Connector assembly with the perfect care. Using Philips screwdriver, unscrew the dock connector shield by removing one screw.

Now pry the cable using spudger tool. Alternatively, you can also pry the round connector cable lying underneath the logic board. There are 7 screws of different shapes and sizes to hold the dock assembly in a place. Be careful in removing all the screws to avoid any sorts of loss or damage in the logic board.

Using the spudger tool between the headphone jack and rear casing pry up until it starts to loosen. Also, do the same under the lightning dock by taking care of the cables going underneath.

Keep Continue till loudspeaker assembly. Don’t try to tear the loudspeaker assembly off as you can’t slide it out from underneath the logic board. Now you should focus on removing the lightning dock cable from the back of the rear casing.

Step 4: Detach the loudspeaker assembly from the dock assembly

You can easily separate the loudspeaker assembly from the dock assembly by using a spudger tool. Separate the speaker from the dock. Place the loudspeaker assembly on the new dock connector assembly. Now replace the dock connector assembly.

Step 5: Replace the dock connector assembly

The lightning dock is the best place to start replacing the dock connector assembly. Replace the three screws to hold the lightening the dock on its place. But don’t replace the bottom screw just yet.

Now secure the left and right of the lightning dock assembly and be careful about the logic board while sliding the speaker corner and cable under it. After aligning up the all the things, replace all the screws now. Reconnect the logic board and dock connector cable and replace the shield with Philips Screwdriver.

Step 6: Replace the battery

Keep the battery laying back down the corresponding place and press firmly to let the adhesive grab hold of the back casing.

Now carefully line up the battery connector and reconnect it by pressing firmly with your four fingers. Replace the battery shield and replace the two screws using a screwdriver.

Step: 7 Reconnect the Display Assembly

Start from reattaching the three cables for the display on the back side of the board. Now cover the display shield. Replace the three screws. Also, replace the two screws on either side of the lightning dock.

Finally, your iPhone -6 is now assembled. Now it’s safe to power on your device. Connect it with the wall charger after it boots back up. Hope you are cheering up now with your iPhone- 6S.
