I’m increasingly concerned that maintaining a stable Labour Party is no longer a possibility. How does a party that is so ideologically split (and splitting further by the day) maintain a feasible platform to challenge the Conservatives? It feels like more poisonous and juvenile rhetoric is being spat within Labour (-ahem-Austin-ahem-) than at the Opposition; sad times indeed.

A large part of me simply wants the petulant Blairites (admittedly, not all of them) to accept Corbyns widespread public support. However, my hope is fading by the day and I honestly can’t see it happening anymore. If I weren’t so fundamentally risk-averse, I would happily support some sort of socialist coalition or even a complete merging of parties. After all, Old Labour seems to share more in common with the Greens and the SNP these days. However, I feel neither of the above scenarios are particularly likely, which leaves us with something of a stalemate…
