I agree with the OP jaden violet — there was nothing offensive about that commenters response.

  1. Where else does one get their talent? Sure it can be crafted into perfection with the help of teaching, but usually there has to be some foundation there to start with.
  2. As the OP stated in her response to you, black men did use to sing beautifully towards women. And yes, I’m sure even some it happened in said cotton fields. Nowadays it’s nothing more than drugs and sex, with videos including more scantily clad women than a Hardee’s commerical.
  3. Call it what you want… but it’s pointless in my opinion. And yes — I don’t particularly care for rap music. When a song says the same five or six words over and over or rhyming random stuff that has absolutely no connection to each other — that’s not music.
  4. Women are displayed as trash in rap culture. An item that can be picked up and passed off without a care in the world. Sure there are some rappers that do actually rap positivity — but those numbers are few and far between.
