Victoria Man Faces Lifetime Sentence After Getting Caught Smoking Marijuana While Driving

Victoria, BC officers arrested an unnamed man late Monday afternoon who was found to be smoking marijuana, or a ‘doobie’ as they’re called on the street, while stuck in traffic.

Police’s attention were initially drawn to the car by the song ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’ by ‘Wham!’. Unable to see within the vehicle, police investigated.

“It was very odd. We thought the car may have been on fire or that the man was pumping exhaust into his own car to get away from the horrendous music.” said one officer on the scene.

“[…] as we got closer, we could hear high pitched singing in the background. Like a 5 year old girl trying to sing along. I admit,” the officer said, “I giggled a little bit.”

When they reached the car, officers knocked on the door and the man inside rolled down the window. Onlookers claimed the smoke billowed out of the vehicle like lava running down the sides of a volcano.

“At that point, it was clear what was going on.” remarked a nearby witness

The air was thick with the smell of Ganja, Doritos and Mountain Dew. — Witness

Police found no drugs within the car. They suspect the man had consumed everything he had with him.

The man is currently held in custody and can face up to life in prison for “improper musical selection whilst under the influence” plus 2 years for “driving under the influence”.
